Take the Walls Evaluation

Let the Walls Come Down

This morning, churches all over Central Texas are embarking on a journey together we’re calling The Walls Project – addressing together the walls that keep us from the life God intended, that separate us from one another, and that cut us off from the communities that God has called us to love. Over thirty congregations from multiple denominations and cultures representing over 50,000 Austinites have prayerfully determined to face their walls head on for the next six weeks. It’s no coincidence that we begin on September 11, as we are reminded that every crisis is an opportunity for a Breakthrough – or a breakdown. Our dependence on God will determine which takes place. By the way… it’s not too late for churches to join the project. At least two congregations begin next Sunday, September 18. All of the resources are available free at AustinCityWalls.com.

It is time for the walls to come down. Austin and Central Texas may never be the same!

A Great Meeting in Louisville! – and the “Football Diagram”

I had the privilege of spending Friday and Saturday with ministry leaders from across the country at Southern Seminary’s  Connecting Church and Home Conference.  One of the things I love the most about the Faith Breakthroughs concept is that it fits into the context of any church culture.  Anywhere people are stuck, they can experience a breakthrough!  We were reminded, once again, that people fail to connect their home lives with their faith because of barriers that give them a false answer to the question, “Who is God?”

I’ve attached a link to a “Football Field” illustration that demonstrates the primary walls people face, the corresponding attributes of God, and the specific path to each breakthrough.  It is not intended to overwhelm people with all of the information, but to give a “big picture” look at spiritual development in the home.  In fact, I made a point to not outline every detail in my book Walls, because the most important thing you need to do is address one wall at a time in your home life.  In the meantime, don’t ever hesitate to email with specific questions.

Thomas Road Prepares for a Breakthrough

A few weeks ago, my friend Jonathan Falwell, Senior Pastor of the historic Thomas Road Baptist Church, called me to say he felt like God was leading him to preach a series on Walls.  Needless to say, I was honored that he wanted to share these principles, and excited to know that such wonderful people were about to experience the power of a Faith Breakthrough.  I hope you’ll join me as the thousands of members of TRBC – and the thousands more whom they influence – will be blessed beyond measure as they seek to know more of God and what he has promised.  It’s time for many to get “unstuck” from the barriers that are holding them back!

If you’re a experiencing the Walls Series at TR first-hand, get started today by taking the free assessment on the right side of this page.  Let us know if there is any way we can help on your journey to the Breakthrough.
